So now, having seen one and done a little homework, we know that a pileated woodpecker is arguably the best-lookin’ bird in NA, we know how to pronounce it and how it got its name:
Definition of PILEUM
: the top of the head of a bird from the bill to the nape
This led, as usual, to an hour or so meandering through the dictionary online and some Encyclopedia Brit references, for which I thought you had to pay. I took some vocabulary tests which are always ego-boosting, and wound up on a list of facts about sleep and dreams. The illustrated article wasn’t that illuminating (there’s a pun in there), but pull up a painting titled “Sleeping Venus” …. let me know whether you think she’s just sleeping.
Maybe I did not make it clear that the underwear was on the floor when eaten.
